It’s Holiday Time In Myrtle Beach

Holiday Myrtle BeachWe are no longer in the era where the sidewalks get rolled up and the buildings go dark after Labor Day! Instead, Myrtle Beach comes alive in a different way as we prepare for the coming holiday season. Sparkly Christmas lights, fun festivals for fall, and of course, some amazing pumpkin patches! Keep reading to find out a wealth of ideas for enjoying the off-season here in Myrtle Beach and help us usher in the Christmas season….

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade isn’t the only show on earth any more! So get off that couch and come enjoy our Christmas boat regatta or one of the many parades that will happen all over the Grand Strand! There’s no shortage of fall fun as we bring in lots of festivals and arts & craft shows, complete with music, good food and entertainment for the kids. These events are inside and outdoors, depending on weather, etc.

All of you with that holiday spirit will love the Dickens Christmas Show, which starts Nov 7. It’s a Myrtle Beach favorite and one you will be sure to enjoy! Still need more décor ideas? The Springmaid Beach Winter Arts and Crafts Show is your ticket.

A favorite event among us locals would have to be the Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Ball Field. At dusk each day, the fun kicks off with a petting zoo, inflatables for the kids, food, and lights galore. Oh—and don’t forget the reindeer rides!

If Christmas trees are your thing, then you’ll want to check out Ripley’s Aquarium and see their celebration of all 50 states! They even have scavenger hunts at different points of the season. And speaking of lights, Brookgreen Garden’s “Night of a Thousand Candles” is a beautiful spectacle of Christmas lights, candles, and live Christmas music by some our areas most talented musicians. It’s truly a must-see!

Last, but certainly not least, you can’t leave Myrtle Beach without seeing one of our many fabulous shows! The Carolina Opry and The Alabama Theater have both just begun their Christmas shows and they will run through the end of December. Both shows are top notch in quality entertainment and will lift your spirits, make you laugh and smile, and get you ready to celebrate the best season of the year—Myrtle Beach style!

So come join us this holiday season! Gone are the days of ghost town darkness after summer is over. We locals here love our mild fall and winter temperatures and would love to have you as our guest, so come get in on some holiday magic with your own fall/winter getaway!
